1. Send Your Clothing
Choose the clothes that hold special memories and that you would like to include in your keepsake. I can work with a wide variety of fabrics and incorporate as many items as you wish.
You can send your clothing to me by post, or arrange an appointment to meet in person, discuss your ideas and decide on the best options for your keepsake.
2. Choose Your Keepsake
Decide which keepsake you'd like to create — whether it's a Memory Bear, Memory Cushion, Memory Quilt or one of the smaller keepsakes, heart, star or butterfly.
If you're unsure which option would work best with your clothing, I'm happy to help.
3. Design & Planning
Once I receive your clothing, I carefully assess the fabrics, colours, and patterns of each garment. I look for the special details that can be incorporated into your keepsake, such as pockets, buttons, embroidery, labels and distinctive prints.
The design is then planned to make the best possible use of your clothing and create a piece that is personal to you. Your keepsake can be made even more personal with the addition of an embroidered name or special message.
4. Carefully Handmade
Your keepsake is individually cut, sewn and finished by hand in my studio. I take care throughout the process to handle your clothing with respect and to preserve as many of its meaningful details as possible.
5. Your Finished Keepsake
Your treasured clothing is transformed into something new — a unique piece that brings those memories out of the wardrobe and into your home.
Every Twill memory keepsake is made from your clothing, your memories and a little careful craftsmanship. No two pieces are ever the same.
6. All unused clothing is returned to you.
